January Workshops Focus on life Skills

27/1/26, 22:00

Students gathered in Quetzaltenango, Parramos, and Cobán for workshops focused on life skills, well-being, and community learning.

At the beginning of each year, Progresa organizes workshops designed to support students not only academically but also personally. In January 2026, students participated in a new series of workshops centered on the life skills framework promoted by the United Nations.

These sessions focused on strengthening essential abilities such as communication, self-awareness, emotional management, and decision-making—skills that are fundamental for both academic success and personal development.

In addition to the main workshop sessions, students also participated in breathing and relaxation activities that encouraged them to reflect on stress management and emotional well-being. These moments provided students with practical tools they can apply in their daily lives while balancing the demands of university studies.

Because Progresa students live across many regions of Guatemala, the workshops are organized in several locations so students can travel to the closest meeting point. This year, workshops were held in Quetzaltenango, at Progresa’s office in Parramos, and in Cobán.

By creating these spaces for learning and connection, Progresa continues to strengthen the sense of community among students while supporting their growth as professionals and leaders in their communities.
