Ways to donate
and support our program.
The Guatemala Friends Scholarship Program welcomes donations large or small.
We depend entirely on your support.
All checks should be made out to Redwood Forest Friends Meeting with only
Guatemala Scholarship Program on the memo line(Please do not use "Progresa"). When you pay by check all of the money goes to provide disadvantaged Guatemalans access to education in Guatemala. If your donation goes to support one of the specific projects or our program, like the Student health fund, the Progresa English Program
(Teaching English program), please write in the memo line: Guatemala Scholarship Program + the specific program you are supporting.
Mail checks to the following address:
Redwood Forest Friends Meeting
Attn: Guatemala Scholarship Program
P.O. BOX 1831
Santa Rosa, CA 95402
Sponsor a Student
Many donors prefer to directly sponsor a student selected by the program rather than donating to the general fund. Sponsors receive semiannual reports on their assigned student, allowing them to gain insight into the students' circumstances and the state of education in Guatemala. If you wish to sponsor a student, please email the program director at info@progresagt.org, indicating your budget and whether you are interested in supporting a student in a specific field of study. Based on this information, a student will be selected for you. Sponsorship costs range from $1,000 to $3,000 per year. When sending your sponsorship check, please make it payable to Redwood Forest Friends Meeting and write "Guatemala Scholarship Program" followed by the student's name on the memo line.
